3rd Engineer

Role Overview

We invite experienced offshore engineers to join an Offshore Support Vessel based in Qatar as a 3rd Engineer. You will assume responsibility for the upkeep and safe operation of vital engine room systems, ideal for those with prior experience on dynamic positioning (DP) vessels seeking to advance their offshore engineering skills.

Key Duties

• Conduct regular inspections, engine room rounds, and preventive maintenance routines.
• Alert senior engineers about any machinery issues and assist with troubleshooting mechanical systems.
• Ensure consistent and dependable functioning of engines, generators, pumps, and auxiliary gear by proactively performing maintenance tasks.
• Carry out maintenance work following established company and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain a safe working environment by upholding rigorous housekeeping and safety protocols.
• Support overall vessel reliability through diligent monitoring of fuel, lubrication, and cooling processes.
• Broaden your offshore engineering knowledge, particularly in relation to DP maintenance activities.
• Collaborate actively within the engineering team to promote safe and efficient vessel operation.

Mandatory Qualifications and Certifications

• Certificate of Competency A-III/2.
• Dynamic Positioning Maintenance Certificate specific to the Engine Room.
• BOSIET certification.
• H2S training.
• Emergency Response Management (ERM) certification.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 12 months effective sailing aboard Construction Support Vessels (CSV), Diving Support Vessels (DSV), or Multi-Purpose Support Vessels (MPSV).
• At least 2 months effective sailing experience on DP2 KPOS vessels.
• NOC approval status is advantageous.
