3D Concrete Printer Operator

Role Overview

This hybrid full-time position based in Brisbane, Queensland involves working both on-site and remotely. As a 3D Concrete Printer Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and operating 3D concrete printing machinery to fabricate structural and architectural components as per project demands.

Key Duties

• Prepare and mix concrete batches suitable for 3D printing requirements.
• Continuously monitor printing output quality and resolve any technical issues with the equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks to maintain safe and efficient operation of the printing systems.
• Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and construction teams to correctly interpret blueprints, fine-tune print settings, and assist with on-site installation and finishing.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols and accurately log production data.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements of printing methodologies and operational workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of formwork and flatwork including mold setup and concrete surface preparation.
• Competency in operating heavy machinery within construction or manufacturing settings safely.
• Understanding the properties of ready mix concrete and applying quality control methods to ensure consistent printing quality.
• Carpentry skills applicable to constructing and modifying supporting structures and printer fixtures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC or automated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings with precision regarding dimensions and tolerances.
• Focused on workplace safety including appropriate use of personal protective equipment and adherence to site regulations.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities while also managing independent tasks and time in a hybrid work environment.
• Previous experience in concrete construction, precast manufacturing, or additive manufacturing is desirable.
• Possession of relevant trade qualification or certification in construction, carpentry, or a related discipline is advantageous though not essential.
