1st Shift Pad Prep

About the Role

STARK seeks a skilled Pad Prep worker at its Calhoun, GA site, tasked with preparing carpet padding by accurately squaring carpet using knee kicking and nail gun techniques.

Work Schedule and Employment Type

This position is full-time with a standard shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM.

Incentives

Employees may be eligible for a hiring and retention bonus of up to $1,000 within the first year, with bonus specifics provided during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and cut padding materials such as foam, batting, or fabric utilizing hand tools, cutting machinery, or templates.
• Adhere to work orders, patterns, or cut sheets to achieve accurate dimensions and quantity requirements.
• Conduct pre- and post-cut inspection of materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Label and organize cut padding pieces for use in production or inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cutting area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Monitor and report material usage and waste.
• Assist with upkeep of cutting equipment and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Coordinate with production teams to maintain consistent workflow and meet deadlines.
• Receive cross-training opportunities in other production sectors as needed.
• Work in varying warehouse environmental conditions, including temperatures above 95°F in summer and cooler temperatures in winter.

Job Requirements

• Basic proficiency in math and measurement, including usage of measuring tapes and rulers.
• Ability to interpret cut sheets, patterns, and job instructions clearly.
• Detail-oriented approach and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and move materials as necessary.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, team-focused environment under fast-paced conditions.
