About the Opportunity
Saab Australia is actively engaged within the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement, executing key projects including the Hobart Class Destroyer SEA4000 Phase 6 and Hunter Class Frigates SEA5000 Phase 1. This collaborative enterprise combines efforts from multiple programs under one umbrella to leverage synergies across platforms, involving industry and the Commonwealth of Australia personnel.
Role Overview
As a vital member of the Engineering and Sustainment Services team, the Bid Coordinator supports the delivery of combat systems solutions for the Royal Australian Navy surface combatant fleet. The role requires:
- Facilitating workshops by organizing agendas, taking minutes, and aiding presentation development.
- Overseeing the creation and revision of bid documents, ensuring version control and proper information sharing.
- Managing governance and the process around bid submissions.
- Maintaining the issues and action register to ensure timely resolution.
- Contributing to project management documents related to proposals.
- Participating in risk and opportunity evaluation activities.
- Providing project management support and advice to control account managers and discipline leads.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly project reports covering progress, scheduling, earned value management, and risk assessments.
- Supporting ongoing monthly cycles for schedule updates, risk and opportunity reviews, and estimate at completion adjustments.
- Demonstrating leadership, strong communication, and persuasive negotiation skills to engage and influence stakeholders within the CSI-IPT.
Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work-from-home/office and a 9-day fortnight are possible for this position.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Diploma or Certificate in Project Management is preferred.
- Between 2 to 5 years of administrative experience in a project context, with prior defense industry exposure being advantageous.
- Familiarity with earned value management principles is desirable.
- Strong planning, analytical, and communication capabilities.
- Proficient administrative skills combined with an understanding of project lifecycles, documentation, standards, and methodologies.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and able to secure an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level. Verification of nationality and citizenship may be necessary to comply with export control regulations including ITAR.
