About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) operates one of the largest global networks supporting the cloud. To manage this massive infrastructure, AWS is innovating the design, deployment, and operation of networks. The Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) team focuses on developing essential software services controlling every layer, from rack switches to backbone routers, aiming towards fully self-managed networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable and fault-tolerant services that govern network configuration lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop advanced solutions integrating emerging technologies, algorithms, and innovations.
- Create and advance a strategic technical roadmap to evolve AWS software service offerings in networking.
- Engage in complex problem-solving involving hyperscale data center networks, distributed systems, and real-time traffic engineering.
- Analyze network telemetry data to identify and resolve performance issues, enhancing packet processing and optimization across AWS infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrable professional software development experience (non-internship).
- Competency in designing and architecting reliable, scalable software systems with design pattern knowledge.
- Proficient programming skills in at least one software language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
