About the internship

About the Internship

This internship involves the complete design cycle of 3D mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using industry-standard CAD software like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor. You will be responsible for drafting manufacturing drawings including GD&T annotations to meet engineering standards, creating and optimizing CAM toolpaths for CNC operations, and simulating machining strategies to ensure high precision and material efficiency.

Collaboration with design, production, and quality teams will be key to ensuring cost-effective and manufacturable components. Interns will also conduct finite element analysis (FEA) or simulations to validate designs under stress, deformation, and thermal conditions. Continuous improvement of existing designs will be on your agenda, focusing on weight reduction and simplifying assembly processes.

Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining design databases for proper version control, and cooperating with CNC operators to troubleshoot machining concerns are important duties. Interns will also ensure all work complies with ISO, ASME, or BIS guidelines and actively participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) assessments.
