AWS DevOps Engineer Internship (Remote, Part-Time)

About the Internship

This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting and managing the technical infrastructure of an e-commerce platform. Interns will engage in development, deployment, and upkeep of cloud and containerized environments, contributing to platform reliability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining the platform's technology infrastructure.
• Help configure and oversee development, staging, and production environments.
• Collaborate with developers to deploy and troubleshoot applications effectively.
• Monitor infrastructure and application performance to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Establish and maintain monitoring systems including logs, dashboards, and alerts.
• Facilitate Docker-based deployments and container management tasks.
• Support cloud resource management such as compute, storage, networking, databases, and permissions.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and various DevOps tools.
• Contribute to infrastructure security including backups, access controls, and secrets management.
• Investigate technical problems such as deployment failures and performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in root cause analysis and assist in setting up preventative measures.
• Maintain detailed documentation on infrastructure, deployment workflows, and operational processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to align infrastructure with platform needs.
• Help enhance platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency as user demand grows.

Candidate Eligibility

• Must be available for a remote internship with a duration of six months.
• Should be able to start between September 16, 2026, and October 21, 2026.
• Must possess relevant skills, interests, and preferably be a Computer Science Engineering student.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience building and deploying projects personally, academically, freelance, or open source.
• Prior hands-on exposure to major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of automation and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Ansible is preferred though not mandatory.
• Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB is a plus.
• Comfortable experimenting with Linux, cloud platforms, automation, or open-source technologies.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup setting where responsibilities evolve rapidly.
• Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and eagerness to learn are highly valued beyond prior experience.
