Full Time Keyholder - Peterborough, Ontario

We specialize in providing a wide array of food and accessories for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals. As a Keyholder, you will play a crucial role in maintaining excellent store operations, delivering superior customer service, and promoting the wellbeing of pets in our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and manage customer sales transactions.
• Handle merchandise orders, deposit banking, and complete other necessary paperwork.
• Stock small items weighing less than 10 lbs into the sales area.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the store, including sweeping and dusting.
• Assist with unloading deliveries of pet food and supplies up to 50 lbs and restocking them.
• Open and close the store in accordance with the company’s protocols.
• When managerial staff are absent, delegate daily objectives and assignments to Assistant Customer Experts.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support store operations.

Required Qualifications & Attributes

• Minimum 2 years retail or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Demonstrate a friendly, outgoing demeanor with strong customer service skills.
• Capable of repetitively lifting 50 lbs.
• Available for flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is needed.
• A valid driver’s license may be necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 6 months of retail experience.
• Availability during evenings and weekends is highly valued.
• Previous experience with pets is advantageous.
