RTR Quality Control (QC) Inspector

Role Overview

We are looking to hire a knowledgeable RTR Quality Control Inspector to contribute to a significant infrastructure project. This role involves supervising the inspection and testing processes of Reinforced Thermosetting Resin (RTR), Glassfiber Reinforced Epoxy (GRE), and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) piping systems. The incumbent will ensure adherence to all project specifications, international standards, and client engineering requirements across construction and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct verification of incoming RTR/GRE/GRP pipes, fittings, adhesives, and raw materials by cross-referencing material certificates, purchase orders, and project needs.
• Monitor procedures including joint fit-ups, adhesive bonding, lamination layups, wrapping, and curing cycles, such as the application of heating blankets.
• Observe and document hydrostatic pressure tests, leak tests, and visual inspections performed on completed non-metallic piping networks.
• Validate shaver machine configurations including settings, taper angles, and joint preparation; oversee and qualify the craftsmanship of RTR bonders and laminators.
• Manage documentation by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Quality Control Procedures (QCP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and daily Quality Inspection Reports (QIR).
• Detect non-conformities, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possess 5 to 7 years of dedicated QC inspection experience specifically with RTR/GRE/GRP piping in sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemical, or large utility projects.
• Hold valid certifications from leading RTR manufacturers like Future Pipe Industries (FPI), Amiantit, or equivalently recognized entities.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of established standards including ASME B31.3, ASTM, and customer-specific standards such as Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES-L-105, SAES-S-070).
• Have adequate computer skills and either have completed or be prepared to undertake the client Computer-Based Test (CBT) pertaining to RTR/non-metallic piping inspections.
• Educational qualification should be a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
