Role Summary

We seek a skilled Boilermaker for a full-time position based in Forrestfield, Western Australia. In this practical role, the selected candidate will help uphold the safety, reliability, and performance standards of our railway fleet by assessing, prepping, repairing, and refurbishing various rolling stock components such as rail wagons, wheelsets, and bogies. The position requires collaboration within a proficient team to deliver superior repairs, inspections, and maintenance that support smooth rail operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks to completion, adhering to standards AS1554, 3992, and 1665.
  • Interpret technical drawings to fabricate components accurately.
  • Create and assemble brackets, fixtures, tooling, fittings, and related equipment.
  • Engage in wagon fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Undertake metal fabrication of various components as required.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of nationally recognized trade certification in boilermaking.
  • A valid C Class driver's license.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • Capability to work independently under strict deadlines.
  • Competency in general fitting tasks.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within the rail sector is advantageous though not mandatory.
  • Holding National High Risk Work Licences for Forklift and Rigging & Dogging is preferred.
