Role Description
We seek a SQL-focused Database Developer who thrives on tackling intricate data challenges and ensuring the smooth operation of vital systems. This hands-on position involves owning and optimizing SQL Server environments, enhancing performance, and maintaining data pipelines critical to major platforms. The role demands extensive work with T-SQL to diagnose and resolve production issues, guaranteeing reliable data transmission across systems.
Collaboration with engineers and data teams is essential, requiring an understanding of how individual contributions fit within broader organizational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support SQL Server databases in live production settings.
- Develop and refine queries, stored procedures, functions, and data structures.
- Perform performance tuning and promptly address any arising issues.
- Maintain and improve backend data pipelines and system integrations.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering and data teams to maintain system stability.
- Contribute to enhancing code quality and ongoing system improvements.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive practical experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Proficient in crafting and optimizing complex database queries.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and database design.
- Experience handling ETL/ELT processes or backend data pipeline management.
- Skilled in supporting production environments with a focus on resolving performance issues.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute to team objectives.
- Bonus skills include Python for scripting, familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), experience with data orchestration and scheduling tools, and knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.
