The position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara in Doha, Qatar. Role Overview
We are looking for a diligent and dynamic Wave Pool Instructor responsible for supervising wave pool activities to guarantee guest safety and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves constant monitoring of the pool area, enforcing safety regulations, assisting guests in safely enjoying the waves, and maintaining an orderly aquatic environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee wave pool usage to ensure all visitors adhere strictly to safety procedures and park policies.
- Provide clear safety instructions and briefings to guests regarding wave pool conduct and guidelines.
- Continuously watch pool users and environmental conditions to prevent accidents and manage emergencies promptly.
- Aid visitors safely entering and exiting the wave pool area.
- Apply safety restrictions related to height, age, and health as established by the facility.
- React rapidly and professionally to any incidents, emergencies, or guest inquiries.
- Carry out routine examinations of the pool environment, equipment, flotation gear, and safety signage to ensure compliance and functionality.
- Collaborate with lifeguards, operational, and maintenance teams to facilitate smooth pool operations.
- Keep pool decks and adjacent guest spaces clean, organized, and inviting.
- Document any incidents, maintenance issues, and daily reports thoroughly.
- Assist in aquatic events, programs, and group activities as needed.
- Consistently provide outstanding guest service to foster an enjoyable atmosphere.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred experience includes roles in aquatic facilities, water park operations, swim instruction, or guest services.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain lifeguard certification prior to starting.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and water rescue are advantageous.
- Demonstrable swimming skills and a solid understanding of water safety practices are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to remain alert and manage emergency situations calmly.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including shifts during weekends, holidays, and busy seasons.
