About the Role
Join Kiwibank as a Software Engineer based in Wellington and contribute to creating straightforward and impactful digital solutions for both customers and frontline teams. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll develop your technical skills while delivering meaningful outcomes aligned with Kiwibank's mission to improve the wellbeing of Kiwi people.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build modern .NET applications that enhance user experiences
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using OpenAPI and Swagger specifications following a contract-first approach
- Adopt and contribute to robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps practices
- Collaborate within Agile, cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support production environments to ensure reliability and performance
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies
Required Experience and Skills
- Proficient in developing applications with C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core frameworks
- Hands-on experience with REST API development, OpenAPI, and Swagger documentation tools
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps methodologies
- Knowledgeable in cloud design principles and modern application architecture
- Experience with GraphQL technologies such as HotChocolate, GraphQL.NET, or Apollo
- Familiarity with deploying cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Skilled in application observability including logging and monitoring best practices
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Competent in using Git and contemporary software delivery techniques
- Effective communicator with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Additional Information
This position values curiosity, customer-focused thinking, and strong teamwork. While covering many technical areas is beneficial, candidates do not need to meet every criterion to be considered. This role is a full-time onsite opportunity based in Wellington, though Kiwibank also offers hybrid positions across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch offices.
