About the Role and Workplace
This position is for a full-time Receptionist based at Colonia Court Care Home located on St Andrews Avenue in Colchester. The home, which holds a Good rating from CQC and an excellent Carehome.co.uk rating of 9.7/10, provides both nursing and residential care with options for short stays focused on rest and recovery.
The facility is situated in a quiet, leafy suburb with beautiful landscaped grounds and convenient access to local shops and transportation for residents. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial contact for all visitors arriving at the care home.
- Handle and manage new enquiries about the home.
- Provide support and guidance in person and over the telephone.
- Conduct tours around the care home for prospective residents and their families.
- Assist the Home Manager and Administrator by performing clerical duties, including maintaining accurate paperwork and filing systems.
- Manage enquiries promptly and ensure completion of daily and weekly responsibilities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should have previous experience working as a receptionist, particularly with a strong foundation in customer service. Personal qualities such as friendliness, approachability, organization, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, their families, and other staff members are crucial. The role demands efficiency, dedication, a capacity to manage diverse tasks, and a compassionate attitude that prioritizes positively impacting people's lives.
