Job Opportunity

WT New Zealand is expanding its project management team in Wellington to deliver high-quality results for clients throughout the lower North Island. We seek an experienced Project Manager with around 5-7 years of relevant expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate projects and conduct feasibility assessments and briefing.
• Prepare fees and proposals for professional services.
• Appoint consultants and manage design, cost planning, and risk.
• Oversee contractor procurement, project programming, and construction monitoring.
• Manage project completion, handover, and defects liability period.
• Write draft reports and foster relationships both internally and externally.
• Manage scope, budget, schedule, risk, quality, and stakeholder relationships.

Candidate Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of project management experience within construction, property, or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven background delivering health and/or infrastructure projects, with both vertical and horizontal exposure preferred.
• Experience collaborating with local or regional councils, council-controlled organizations, or public-sector clients is highly valued.
• Tertiary qualification in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• Comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle, procurement, consultant coordination, contract management, risk mitigation, and reporting processes.
• Preferred experience working within a client-side consultancy or client organization.
• Proficient with project management software and common data environment tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with sound commercial judgment.
• Confident in engaging with diverse stakeholders and managing multiple priorities with a proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented mindset.
