Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for professionals specializing in data centre infrastructure design who not only develop concepts but also ensure their realization, commissioning, and operation at scale.
Within Vertiv's Infrastructure Solutions division, specifically the prefabricated segment, you will embody the organization's comprehensive capabilities when engaging with clients, transforming their requirements into integrated, top-tier data centre solutions.
Your role bridges engineering, project delivery, and client interactions—taking ownership of the process from initial design concepts through to practical application and deployment in operational settings. This role demands expertise beyond mere design, including understanding the feasibility and performance of solutions in active environments.

- Design Expertise: Demonstrable proficiency in mechanical and electrical design across data centre systems, alongside cross-disciplinary knowledge.
- Operational Experience: Hands-on involvement with constructed, commissioned, and functioning data centre facilities.
- Client Engagement: Capacity to collaborate effectively with customers, interpret requirements clearly, and formulate value-driven solutions.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop solutions and assist presales efforts by converting customer needs into solution concepts aligned with approved architectures and standards.
- Create technical proposals, detailed solution descriptions, and corresponding Bills of Material.
- Support sales teams by providing technical expertise during client meetings, presentations, and information requests.
- Implement Vertiv’s reference architectures, redundancy frameworks, and design guidance ensuring alignment with product portfolios, cost frameworks, and delivery capabilities.
- Identify and escalate necessary deviations from standard designs.
- Collaborate extensively with internal engineering groups spanning electrical, mechanical, control systems, and customer service sectors.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and specialists to ensure smooth transition of solutions into execution phases.
- Maintain quality and risk awareness by assuring solutions comply with technical standards, regulations, and client expectations, while highlighting associated technical risks and dependencies.
- Ensure solutions validate against relevant criteria such as Tier intent and redundancy philosophies.
- Drive continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned from completed projects and contributing feedback to enhance reference designs and tools.
- Advance personal technical and commercial understanding of Vertiv’s product and service offerings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in presales, design, or solution engineering within infrastructure or data centre environments.
- Solid grasp of power, cooling, and infrastructure system principles pertinent to data centres.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
