About The Ned Doha
Situated in the historic former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha hosts seven diverse restaurants, 90 guest rooms, various event spaces, and Ned’s Club—a private members’ club featuring a rooftop terrace, health club with spa, gym, and a 30-meter outdoor swimming pool.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a visionary and highly skilled Head Chef specializing in Asian culinary arts to lead and refine our Asian cuisine concept. This senior leadership position requires expertise in both traditional and contemporary Asian dishes and experience in luxury hotel settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all culinary operations within the Asian kitchen to guarantee superior food quality, consistent standards, and beautiful presentation.
- Craft, innovate, and refine menus that showcase authentic Asian tastes with a refined, modern flair.
- Uphold rigorous hygiene practices, food safety protocols, and kitchen organization, complying with all relevant regulations.
- Effectively manage kitchen financials including cost control, inventory management, and waste minimization.
- Lead recruitment, training, mentorship, and motivation of culinary staff to attain operational excellence.
- Work collaboratively with Food & Beverage leadership to ensure that culinary outputs align with brand values and exceed guest expectations.
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations during daily services, special events, and functions.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Demonstrated experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef focused on Asian cuisines such as Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Southeast Asian, or Pan-Asian styles.
- Previous work history in luxury hotels or upscale standalone restaurants is strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership abilities, team management skills, and clear communication.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a deep passion for Asian culinary traditions and innovation.
- Expertise in food costing, menu development, and managing kitchen operations.
- Capability to perform and lead effectively within a dynamic, high-standard luxury environment.
