About the Role
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is offering a Web Developer Intern position for the summer of 2026 based in Washington, D.C., compensating at $20 per hour. This role provides hands-on experience with popular content management systems (CMS) including Drupal, WordPress, and Higher Logic, focusing on content management, coding, and web page design. Additionally, the internship involves developing microsites and working on SharePoint/Teams for internal websites, alongside opportunities to engage with AI-driven projects under guidance from the Web Director and VP of MIS.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with MIS and other teams to analyze web analytics and recommend content and structural improvements for websites.
- Brainstorm and implement ideas for key dashboards.
- Assess and fulfill content needs for intranet sites hosted on SharePoint/Teams, creating webpages accordingly.
- Troubleshoot technical issues including code debugging and software reinstallation.
- Manage change requests related to websites and web development tasks.
Learning Opportunities
- Gain insight into ATA’s mission and internal processes.
- Enhance web development and site management capabilities.
- Acquire proficiency with software platforms like Drupal, WordPress, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Google Analytics, AI tools, and Higher Logic.
- Understand backend systems supporting CMS platforms.
- Contribute effectively within a team environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Preferably a rising junior or senior with experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Drupal, or general CMS platforms.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript is mandatory.
- Familiarity with AI applications in web development and coding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Detail-focused with good organizational and analytical skills.
- Logical thinker and effective problem solver.
