Role Overview

We are seeking a professional to design, develop, and manage the data infrastructure that converts raw robotic experiences into reliable datasets used for training and evaluation. This role involves handling various data processes including ingestion, synchronization, processing, storage, quality assurance, lineage tracking, and tooling, enabling model and robotics engineers to iterate efficiently with dependable data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pipelines to ingest multimodal robot data such as video, images, state information, actions, force readings, telemetry, and system logs.
• Implement timestamp alignment, manage calibration metadata, validate data integrity, transform data, and prepare datasets for use.
• Create tools for dataset discovery, filtering, version control, sampling, annotation, and exporting.
• Establish automated quality checks and dashboards to monitor dataset completeness, consistency, corruption, drift, and duplication.
• Design optimal storage architectures and policies to handle large-scale robotics datasets efficiently over their lifecycle.
• Maintain data lineage and ensure reproducibility from initial data capture to final model-ready datasets.
• Integrate data systems with collection hardware, labeling workflows, and model training/evaluation frameworks.
• Enhance throughput and reduce costs through effective profiling, batching, parallelization, and appropriate compute and storage solutions.
• Investigate and resolve pipeline failures and anomalies to ensure long-term reliability.
• Document data schemas, operational procedures, and data contracts for internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years of experience working with Python and SQL, along with solid software engineering practices.
• Proven background in building production data pipelines and managing large datasets.
• Understanding of file/object storage, databases, data schemas, partitioning techniques, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools, data observability, validation mechanisms, and failure recovery processes.
• Ability to effectively handle multimodal data types, timestamps, metadata, and ensure reproducibility.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, containerization technologies, version control systems, and cloud or on-premises computing infrastructure.
• Strong collaboration skills and a habit of thorough documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with robotics logs, ROS bags, video pipelines, or sensor datasets.
• Familiarity with Spark, Ray, Kubernetes, Airflow, Dagster, or comparable tools.
• Hands-on experience with annotation platforms, dataset versioning, or machine learning data platforms.
• Knowledge of privacy considerations, access control mechanisms, and data governance best practices.

Location

This position requires onsite presence in Singapore, collaborating closely with the engineering and robotics teams.
