Role Overview
This full-time, onsite Data Engineer position based in Abu Dhabi involves designing, creating, and maintaining scalable data pipelines. The role focuses on efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations from diverse data sources into data warehouses and storage systems. Responsibilities also include optimizing data models for analytics and business intelligence, collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to meet data requirements, ensuring high quality and security of data, and enhancing the overall data architecture with industry best practices.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in building and managing data pipelines.
- Proficiency in data modeling and warehousing to create scalable and efficient data structures.
- Strong background in ETL processes to consolidate data from different sources.
- Competence in data analytics to facilitate reporting, dashboard generation, and deriving business insights.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar technologies is advantageous.
- Awareness of data governance principles and the implementation of data security measures to protect sensitive information.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex data-related concepts clearly.
