Custodian/Housekeeper

Job Overview

This position is responsible for delivering thorough custodial services within school facilities, including classrooms and dormitory areas. The role encompasses various cleaning and maintenance activities to ensure safe, sanitary, and welcoming environments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare school spaces for daily use by performing cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, and operating autoscrubbing machines.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks, and showers; replenish disposable supplies regularly.
• Maintain clean appearance of mirrors, windows, entrances, and other high-touch areas.
• Restock custodial and hygiene materials as needed throughout the facilities.
• Secure buildings after work hours and assist with occasional additional duties like snow removal, setting up for events, and rearranging furniture.

Candidate Requirements

• Adherence to CDC guidelines for COVID-19 cleaning practices.
• Capability to lift weights over 50 pounds safely.
• Willingness and ability to operate various equipment including lifts and trucks as well as cleaning machines.
• Completion or willingness to obtain ISSA certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, physical endurance, and flexibility to handle a range of custodial tasks.
