About the Role

Join Aon New Zealand as a Technical Manager and play a pivotal role in enhancing our technical expertise and client service. This position places you at the heart of Aon's technical leadership in New Zealand, working closely with broking teams, insurers, and clients to ensure robust and market-aligned insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development of policy documentation including wordings, endorsements, and bespoke solutions tailored for clients.
  • Maintain consistency and high-quality standards in line with evolving industry guidelines.
  • Provide expert advice and aid client-facing teams with interpreting complex insurance coverage matters.
  • Offer guidance on risk, claims scenarios, and programme structuring for clients.
  • Promote quality assurance and governance by translating complex technical information into straightforward, actionable advice.
  • Perform technical audits to verify coverage adequacy and compliance.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and market changes to keep Aon at the forefront of the industry.
  • Deliver technical training to enhance the overall capabilities of the business.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across various insurance products and risk management solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively across broking, leadership teams, insurers, and external advisors.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in insurance policy wordings, coverage interpretation, and technical advisory services.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk transfer mechanisms and insurance programme design.
  • Proven skill in analyzing complex policy language and providing clear, practical guidance.
  • Background working successfully with brokers, insurers, and complex corporate clients.
  • Strong abilities in stakeholder management, influence, and leadership.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and uplifting team capabilities.
