Job description
Role Summary
The Planning Engineer is accountable for designing and managing comprehensive project schedules, ensuring seamless coordination among cross-functional teams, and supporting cost and risk management efforts throughout project lifecycles.
Core Responsibilities
- Formulate detailed short-, medium-, and long-term project schedules employing industry-accepted planning tools and approaches.
- Devise manpower, equipment, and materials resource allocation and leveling strategies for concurrent projects.
- Collaborate with design, procurement, and site teams to convert design deliverables into actionable work plans.
- Monitor progress regularly, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective measures to adhere to timelines.
- Maintain Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and timetable for procurement lead times alongside procurement personnel.
- Facilitate cost estimation and monitor budget alignment related to planning operations.
- Establish risk registers and develop contingency strategies for critical activities and key project milestones.
- Oversee subcontractor planning and synchronize site mobilization and handover activities.
- Generate comprehensive planning reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and client review.
- Implement and uphold standardized planning protocols, templates, and industry best practices.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant statutory regulations, fire safety codes such as NBC and NFPA where applicable, and client-mandated safety guidelines.
- Engage in project review meetings, pre-bid planning discussions, and post-completion analysis workshops.
