Full-Time Cake Decorator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team at Fortinos Supermarket Ltd in Burlington, Ontario. This full-time, onsite position involves preparing, decorating, and presenting cake and pastry items following specific recipes and production schedules.

Key Duties

• Prepare and decorate cakes and pastries according to established recipe cards and production lists.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service at the cake counter and throughout the sales floor.
• Box, price, stock, and rotate products in display areas including cake counters, sales floor, and coolers, ensuring high quality standards are maintained.
• Support the department manager with daily operations by ordering products and supplies, receiving deliveries, taking customer orders, training, and supervising part-time staff.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Follow production plans diligently, recording all waste and scan-outs as per company procedure.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Cake Decorator is mandatory.
• Strong dedication to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Adaptability to shifts and changing priorities in a dynamic retail environment.
• Previous leadership experience is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication abilities.
• Food Handlers certificate is an asset.

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this unionized role is between CAD 18.00 and CAD 24.95, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement. This range indicates starting salaries for the position.
