About the Role
Joining our pharmacy team as a Dispenser, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and health services. Located within the healthcare area of one of our stores in the UK, this position requires building strong rapports with patients by attentively understanding their health needs. Your responsibilities will range from welcoming customers, handling prescription dispensing, ensuring lawful sales of medicines to providing knowledgeable advice to help patients make informed health choices.
Key Duties
- Accurately dispensing prescriptions including supply, ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborating closely with healthcare colleagues to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
- Offering patients advice on medications and directing any complex queries to the Pharmacist.
- Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain safety and compliance in dispensing activities.
- Staying current with new in-store innovations and following all operational protocols.
- Assisting patients with prescription management, promoting repeat reliability and enhancing medication adherence to minimize waste.
Additionally, you will engage with new technologies designed to improve dispensing processes and patient safety, allowing greater focus on personal patient interaction.
Professional Development & Training
The role includes ongoing training to enhance your healthcare expertise. There are also ample opportunities for career progression such as qualifying as a Pharmacy Technician or advancing into store leadership roles.
Required Qualifications and Eligibility
- Completion of the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification, or being in pursuit of an MPharm degree having completed at least the first academic year.
- Valid right to work in the UK; this role does not offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in community pharmacy settings is advantageous.
