Job Overview

As a Traffic Engineer based in Qatar, this role is essential for ensuring safe and efficient transportation systems within various infrastructure and road projects. The position involves analyzing traffic data, performing road safety evaluations, and designing traffic management strategies to enhance mobility and safety across the community. This opportunity allows you to actively contribute to the growth and development of transportation networks in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed traffic studies to analyze patterns and flow trends.
  • Carry out safety assessments on roads to detect hazards and reduce risks.
  • Devise and enforce traffic management plans that improve traffic movement.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary project teams to apply traffic engineering solutions effectively.
  • Monitor current traffic systems’ performance and suggest enhancements when needed.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and evolving best practices within traffic engineering.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and technical documentation related to traffic projects.
  • Offer technical assistance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Ensure all traffic engineering activities comply with both local and international standards and regulations.
  • Engage in project meetings and contribute actively to project management efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Bring at least 15 years of experience specializing in traffic engineering or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of traffic analysis methods and road safety concepts.
  • Be proficient in utilizing traffic engineering software tools and applications.
  • Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Manage multiple projects with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Show strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiar with Qatar’s traffic laws and regulatory standards.
  • Show willingness to embrace new technology and industry developments.
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid professional engineering license.
  • Mandatory registration with MMUP (Qatar’s engineering regulatory body).
