Role Overview
As a Store Development Coordinator based in Christchurch, New Zealand, you will be a key support for retail property projects, new store constructions, and store renewals. This role combines technical trade knowledge with strong administrative and project support capabilities. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Store Development Managers, and Franchise Owners to ensure store build and renewal projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Development Manager and Retail Project Managers during key project phases including procurement, budgeting, equipment specification, and financial charging processes.
- Maintain and update all project documents such as master schedules, budget trackers, and health and safety registers.
- Create and improve internal processes related to ordering, budgeting, and accounting.
- Coordinate timely and cost-effective procurement of equipment for franchisees and upcoming projects.
- Ensure precise financial tracking and charging for all procured equipment.
- Develop and maintain a detailed catalogue of store fit-out items.
- Provide administrative support to the Property Team with lease renewals and site acquisitions as needed.
- Regularly communicate proactive updates on project statuses and potential supply chain issues to internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in project coordination or operational support roles, ideally within retail, property development or the construction sector.
- Knowledge of trade operations is advantageous; experience in New Zealand supermarket environments is highly preferred.
- Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail and proactive management of multiple deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with contractors and corporate stakeholders.
- Comfortable using Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; training on internal systems will be provided.
