Job description
Role Overview
The Purchasing Officer position is a full-time, on-site role located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role entails comprehensive management of procurement activities to support production and operational needs. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing purchase requests, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring the prompt delivery of materials and services from approved vendors.
Key Duties
- Evaluate supplier bids and engage in contract negotiations aimed at obtaining favorable terms balancing cost and quality.
- Maintain precise purchasing documentation in compliance with company policies and quality standards.
- Analyze supplier pricing, delivery times, and performance metrics to foster cost optimization and supply reliability.
- Work closely with warehouse, production, and finance departments to align procurement with organizational goals.
- Adhere strictly to internal controls as well as regulatory standards, while seeking continuous improvements in purchasing workflows.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least four years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Solid understanding of purchasing workflows including requisition and order processing.
- Proven ability in supplier contract negotiation to secure advantageous conditions.
- Strong analytical capabilities for performance evaluation and strategic purchasing decisions.
- Background in procurement within manufacturing or FMCG industries, preferably in food or beverage sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement software and proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Possession of a diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
