Cost Accountant

Role Summary

The Cost Accountant plays a pivotal role in handling and analyzing cost-related financial information to drive informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency at MAKKAH WATER SAFA. The incumbent will be responsible for managing cost records, scrutinizing production and distribution expenses, aiding in budgeting and forecasting efforts, and contributing to pricing strategies through detailed cost evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare comprehensive cost records accurately and timely.
• Analyze production and distribution costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with company objectives.
• Assist with pricing decisions by providing thorough cost analysis and insights.
• Prepare and review cost-related journal entries and reconcile relevant accounts.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of financial statements related to costs.
• Collaborate closely with operations and procurement teams to monitor variances and implement cost control improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in cost accounting including cost allocation, variance analysis, and standard costing techniques.
• Experienced in preparing and analyzing financial statements and management reports.
• Strong analytical abilities with aptitude to interpret data trends and generate actionable recommendations.
• Knowledgeable in journal entries, general ledger upkeep, and month-end closing procedures.
• Understanding of finance principles, budgeting, and forecasting within industrial/manufacturing contexts.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting coupled with a minimum of four years relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Accounting with at least two years of experience.
• Professional certifications such as CMA or CPA are beneficial.
• Familiarity with accounting and ERP software, alongside advanced MS Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities with proficiency in cross-functional teamwork onsite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Arabic and English is advantageous.
• Prior experience in FMCG, beverage, or manufacturing industries is preferred.

Location and Work Arrangement

This full-time position requires physical presence at the company's facility located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to work intimately with the plant and office teams ensuring precise and prompt financial and cost reporting.
