DevOps Engineer

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a driven and skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves collaboration across development, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver automated deployment solutions ensuring maximum reliability and scalability for diverse departmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with multiple teams including Development, Infrastructure, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery and maintenance while resolving build errors.
• Manage daily operations such as monitoring, backups, deployments, and system upkeep.
• Design, construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins Pipeline/Library) and automated tests to facilitate high-quality software builds in continuous integration and deployment environments.
• Create scripts and programs to monitor system services and health statuses, automate integration flows, and trigger alerts.
• Automate and scale systems using modern technologies such as Kubernetes, leveraging infrastructure-as-code frameworks and GitOps methodologies.
• Implement security hardening measures across testing, deployment, and production systems aligned with industry standards.
• Offer technical guidance for solution design and execution.
• Foster a DevOps culture by building strong collaboration between Development and Operations and enhancing the overall release process from development to production.
• Continuously explore and integrate new tools and techniques to optimize production system processes, demonstrating strong self-directed learning and adaptability to emerging technologies.
• Undertake any additional tasks delegated by the Team Lead or Solution Architect.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 5 years of pertinent experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system administration issues.
• Experience configuring load balancing for TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and routing protocols.
• Proven ability to create comprehensive documentation including manuals, guides, troubleshooting procedures, and system design documents.
• Hands-on work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including services like EC2, RDS, ELB, EFS, ELK Stack, ElasticCache, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, AMK, EKS, and MSK on AWS.
• Expertise in developing and managing robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus, Maven, and Spinnaker.
• Familiarity with code quality and project management tools such as Sonar and Jira.
• Proficient with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible AWX/Tower, RunDeck, Chef, Terraform, Puppet, and CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring tools such as APM, Jaeger, OpenTracing, App Mesh, and AWS X-Ray.
• In-depth experience with technologies including Vault, Grafana, Prometheus, and Keycloak.
• Skilled in automating repeatable processes with scripting languages such as Terraform, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, JavaScript, Python, and Groovy.
• Strong system administration expertise particularly for Ubuntu and Debian environments.
• Experienced in DevSecOps orchestration tools and designing application-centric Docker container environments.
• AWS certifications are advantageous.
• Experience working with microservices and event-driven architectures, for example Kafka, is a plus.
• Ability to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
• Proactive self-starter with excellent planning and prioritization capabilities in fast-paced settings.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.
