DevOps Engineer

Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site DevOps Engineer position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a fixed working schedule aligned to the Asia/Dubai time zone. The role sits within a fast-growing technology environment focused on cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, and enterprise-grade automation.

The hiring company partners with global clients across the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and Australia, placing professionals directly into client teams rather than operating as a conventional outsourcing provider. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and product stakeholders while also interacting directly with customers and technical users.

The client company builds scalable cloud infrastructure and robust developer platforms, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes, DevOps tooling, and secure infrastructure automation. The position combines practical DevOps execution with technical consulting, solution design, and customer enablement.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to shape infrastructure designs that are scalable, secure, and capable of high performance.
• Run technical discovery discussions and convert business needs into clear architecture and implementation plans.
• Create proof-of-concepts, technical demonstrations, and supporting implementation documents.
• Design, improve, and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and related DevOps practices.
• Administer containerized systems with Docker, Kubernetes, and Docker Compose.
• Use Terraform and infrastructure-as-code methods to automate provisioning and deployment.
• Track reliability, system health, and performance using observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Work together with engineering teams to deliver smooth integrations and successful deployments.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, networking, and deployment problems.
• Assist with customer onboarding, technical workshops, and enablement activities.
• Collect technical input from enterprise users and share it with product teams to help guide improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, cloud engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar technical function.
• Strong practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Experience applying Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Working ability in Python, Go, JavaScript, or another scripting/programming language.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
• Good understanding of APIs, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems.
• Clear communication and presentation ability, with confidence in explaining technical topics to others.
• Comfort working independently in fast-moving startup or enterprise settings.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Preferred exposure to Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Additional advantage if you know identity and access management standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, or SAML.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies like WireGuard or IPSec is a plus.
• Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows would be beneficial.
• Background in AI infrastructure, enterprise SaaS, or data platforms is desirable.
• Open-source contributions, technical writing, or documentation experience will be considered an asset.

Working arrangement
