Role Overview

We are looking for a customer-oriented Yard Hand to join our dedicated team at the Northgate location. Reporting to the Yard Supervisor, your role will involve sorting, grading, purchasing, and processing scrap metal. This position is practical and hands-on with comprehensive training and growth opportunities, ensuring job stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to visitors and clients on site.
• Operate forklift machinery to load and unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers efficiently and safely.
• Precisely sort and classify various scrap metal materials.
• Support purchasing functions and assist in processing scrap metal materials.
• Uphold a clean, organised, and safe workplace by adhering to OH&S and environmental standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working in a yard or similar manual labour role.
• Excellent customer service abilities with a dedication to delivering a positive experience.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• A motivated and proactive approach with eagerness to gain new knowledge and skills.
• Consistent reliability and a strong commitment to attendance and work ethics.
• Attention to detail in carrying out tasks effectively.
• Holding a valid forklift license is highly advantageous.
