Its services cover air and ocean freight forwarding, cargo handling, relocation, and warehousing. The company operates in more than 50 countries and regions and employs over 73,000 people worldwide.
They are looking for a seasoned, outcome-focused Warehouse Manager to take charge of warehouse operations at the London, Uxbridge branch. This position requires deep experience in freight forwarding and a solid understanding of regulatory requirements including CAA, GDP, H&S, and Air Export. The role involves leading a 24/7, 365-day logistics operation and managing Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and Warehouse Operatives with a hands-on, strategic approach.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse activity, strengthening team performance, ensuring compliance, and improving operational efficiency. The role also includes close work with customers and internal stakeholders, plus reporting and presentation responsibilities.
Leadership and team management
- Direct the senior team that handles daily warehouse operations.
- Provide support to one GDP Manager.
- Guide, coach, and develop team members.
- Promote collaboration and a strong performance culture.
- Maintain clear and effective communication across the operation.
Operations management
- Oversee air and ocean import/export logistics.
- Improve distribution and order fulfilment processes.
- Design and implement operational plans and working methods.
Compliance and regulatory adherence
- Ensure operations meet CAA, GDP, health and safety, and customs-bonded requirements.
- Keep documentation accurate and ready for audits.
- Roll out and maintain compliance programmes.
Performance monitoring and reporting
- Track operational KPIs and performance trends.
- Spot issues and put corrective actions in place.
- Prepare reports for management and wider stakeholders.
Continuous improvement
- Introduce better working practices across the warehouse.
- Lead initiatives focused on safety and quality.
- Support technology upgrades that improve operations.
Customer service and stakeholder engagement
- Work to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Build strong and productive client relationships.
Reporting and presentations
- Use Excel to prepare operational reports.
- Create PowerPoint presentations for customers.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring 7 to 10 years of warehouse management experience, strong knowledge of air and ocean processes, and a proven track record of leading teams. Familiarity with WMS platforms, strong communication skills, and confidence using Excel and PowerPoint are also important.
