Staff Engineer - DEG Layout

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Engineer specialized in DEG layout to join our Bengaluru team, contributing to advanced analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital layout design efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop critical analog, mixed-signal, custom digital blocks, standard cells, and full-chip layouts.
• Conduct comprehensive layout verification including LVS, DRC, antenna checks, shielding, matching, latch-up, electromigration, IR analysis, and thorough quality documentation.
• Create digital block layouts employing automated placement and routing tools.
• Possess fundamental skill coding and automation abilities to improve layout workflows.
• Ensure timely delivery of block-level layouts meeting stringent quality standards.
• Exhibit leadership in planning, estimating area and time, scheduling, delegating tasks, and executing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in sub-block layout execution and review their deliverables.
• Participate actively in effective project management.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with global engineering teams to secure layout project success.
• Implement AI-driven techniques to reduce layout effort and increase efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 12 to 18 years of extensive experience in analog/custom layout design within advanced CMOS processes.
• Proficiency in Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphic Calibre DRC/LVS tools is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience designing layouts for critical blocks such as Temperature Sensors, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, LDOs, Bandgap references, Charge Pumps, Current Mirrors, Comparators, and Differential Amplifiers.
• Strong grasp of analog layout principles including matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR drop, and parasitic component effects.
• Understanding of how layout impacts circuit performance factors like speed, capacitance, power consumption, and area efficiency.
• Ability to interpret design constraints and deliver high-quality layout implementations.
• Expertise in physical verification problem-solving for custom layouts.
• Experience supporting multiple tape-outs is advantageous.
• Skill in automating layout tasks utilizing AI technologies.
• Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
