Role overview

The Junior Product Developer will support the Product Development team across all business lines, helping move samples from initial development through to pre-production. This role contributes across the full process, from early design ideas and prototypes to the final product assortment, while working closely with Fashion Design, Production, and Merchandising teams. The position reports to the Product Development Manager.

What you will do

• Support fitting activities by preparing sample packages, checking that they are unpacked, logged, ironed, and arranged before each session.
• Take measurements and photos during fit sessions, and record fit observations and comments.
• Assist designers and product developers in capturing fit feedback, with the opportunity to eventually run fitting sessions independently.
• Spot fit problems during sessions and suggest practical solutions quickly.
• Measure and document garment dimensions at every sample stage.
• Identify fit concerns early and ask for support when needed.
• Convert fit comments into accurate actions and communicate clearly to reduce confusion, limit re-sampling, and keep development timelines on track.
• Balance quality, production feasibility, cost, and target margins while helping find creative ways to improve material usage and lower production expenses.
• Handle day-to-day supplier queries in support of Product Developers.
• Monitor and coordinate sampling schedules with suppliers.
• Provide administrative assistance such as parcel invoicing and support the creation of guidebooks, SOPs, reports, presentations, and other documentation.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is a strong culture fit for Love, Bonito and has a curious, problem-solving mindset. You should be adaptable, systematic, and highly organised, with solid communication and project coordination abilities. A genuine interest in garment construction is important, along with a strong fashion sense and a sharp eye for proportion, silhouette, lines, and cutting details.

You should also be responsible, proactive, and willing to keep learning and improving. Basic technical knowledge in fit, pattern, and costing is important, as is the ability to work effectively with design and production partners.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 1 year of experience in the apparel industry.
• A diploma in Fashion Apparel, or equivalent textile/clothing experience gained in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of the technical fundamentals of garment making and fitting.
• Good organisational habits, strong follow-through, and the ability to work independently.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin are required.
