About Enhance
Enhance develops technology solutions tailored for personal training management spanning gyms, trainers, clients, and large-scale fitness organizations. Their platform integrates SaaS software, mobile applications, data tools, and streamlined operational workflows. The product is actively in use and scaling, with a focus on fortifying the engineering aspects including frontend code quality, release reliability, personalized customer experiences, testing rigor, and platform maturity.
Role Overview
We seek a proactive frontend engineer to design, enhance, and maintain the foundational web applications that support trainer activities, customer-facing operations, and internal tools. The role involves end-to-end ownership from understanding requirements to deploying and maintaining production-ready features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine live web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Manage frontend features through the complete lifecycle — from conceptualization and design to implementation, testing, QA handoff, and production release.
- Create sophisticated, data-intensive interfaces tailored for trainers, clients, and internal services.
- Employ TanStack libraries for robust application routing, data retrieval and caching, and state control.
- Enhance frontend system architecture including component structuring, speed, and maintainability.
- Boost confidence in releases via thorough unit, integration, and end-to-end testing with frameworks like Vitest.
- Collaborate closely with teams across Product, QA, Backend, Mobile, Data, and Infrastructure departments.
- Lead efforts to progressively migrate features from legacy codebases into the central platform.
- Participate actively in design discussions, Request for Comments (RFCs), Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical reviews, and planning sessions.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably possessing over five years of experience in frontend engineering roles.
- Advanced skills in React and TypeScript, complemented by a strong grasp of modern frontend architectural principles.
- Proven track record in developing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade web applications.
- In-depth knowledge of component-based architecture, web fundamentals including HTTP and API interactions, asynchronous data flows, and complex state management.
- Hands-on expertise with testing methodologies covering unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end scenarios, ideally using Vitest or equivalent modern JavaScript testing frameworks.
- Adept decision-making regarding frontend performance optimization, caching strategies, data sync, error handling, and enhancing user experience.
- Experience primarily with complex, feature-rich applications rather than simple static or promotional websites.
- Capability to incrementally improve existing systems without resorting to full rewrites as the default approach.
- Strong communication skills to align with Product and QA on feature scope, risk mitigation, timelines, and release readiness.
- Adaptability to work efficiently in a scaling organization that may still be evolving its processes and structure.
Beneficial Skills and Tools
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and Vite.
- Knowledge of Vitest for testing and TanStack suite including Router, Query, and Table libraries.
- Familiarity with React Hook Form, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL-based applications.
- Experience with Docker, continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines, AWS cloud services, feature flagging methods, and observability instrumentation.
- Working with component libraries, design systems, accessibility standards, frontend performance tuning, third-party integrations, and SaaS platform paradigms including multi-tenant and configurable systems.
- Exposure to technical governance through RFCs and Architecture Decision Records.
