Role overview
This part-time entry-level Data Analyst position with Réseau Béninois du Parlement Mondial de la Jeunesse pour l'Eau is based in Melbourne, Victoria, and combines on-site presence with the flexibility to work from home. The role supports evidence-based decision-making across youth, water, and community-focused initiatives.
What you will do
You will work on gathering, preparing, checking, and interpreting both numerical and non-numerical data. The role includes creating datasets, carrying out basic statistical analysis, producing straightforward reports and dashboards, and turning key indicators into visual summaries for internal teams and outside stakeholders.
You will also help document analysis methods, uphold data quality standards, and partner with program teams to convert information needs into practical analytical tasks. In addition, you will collaborate with supervisors to build your skills in data analytics while contributing to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting work.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate should be comfortable spotting trends, patterns, and insights in data. A basic grounding in analytics and data modeling is useful, including familiarity with database concepts and how workflows are structured.
Some knowledge of statistics is expected, including descriptive measures, simple correlation, and hypothesis testing. You should also be able to communicate findings clearly in written reports, presentations, and discussions with different stakeholders.
Experience with spreadsheets or data tools such as Excel or Google Sheets is important, and exposure to SQL, R, or Python will be considered an advantage. Strong attention to detail, the ability to juggle several tasks, and a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality are also important.
An interest in youth engagement, water-related issues, sustainable development, or nonprofit/NGO work is preferred. Candidates with relevant coursework or a degree, completed or currently in progress, in data science, statistics, mathematics, economics, environmental science, or a related discipline are encouraged to apply.

This role is part-time and located in Melbourne, VIC. The work arrangement includes both on-site work and the option to work from home.
