Position Overview
The Exchange Trading Development (ETD) team is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to develop and maintain innovative trading technology. This team transforms Quant Research trading ideas into functional systems encompassing tasks from processing market data to order dispatching. Their responsibilities include designing infrastructure and choosing hardware platforms for unparalleled cross-domain optimizations. The role involves ensuring readiness for exchange trading schedules, managing dynamic and urgent issues, and working on both small and large projects that support fully automated trading of over USD 250 billion daily.
Candidate Profile and Expertise
- Proficient in modern C++ standards (C++11 and newer), utilizing advanced language features in a fully post-2011 codebase.
- Deep understanding of computer internals such as caching, paging, system calls, and CPU instruction execution including out-of-order processing and branch prediction for optimal high-performance code.
- Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures, with the ability to evaluate performance trade-offs and reason about complexities for unfamiliar algorithms.
- Capability to independently design robust software systems that operate reliably over extended durations.
- Experience or familiarity with a Linux development environment is beneficial, though not mandatory.
- No prior financial sector knowledge is necessary.
