Position Overview
This role sits within the Interior Solutions Group in Hyderabad and reports to the Regional Specification Head. The purpose of the position is to strengthen engagement with architects, interior designers, builders, contractors, and developers, and to turn product specifications into confirmed business through strong relationship management.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with architects and interior designers to position interior solution offerings and secure product specifications for projects.
- Showcase the technical and commercial value of the products so that they are selected in major projects.
- Develop rapport with key decision-makers to create durable business opportunities over time.
- Segment accounts using the relationship index framework.
- Work with sales teams to convert specified projects into final orders.
- Share specification insights with the sales function to help improve conversion outcomes.
- Independently deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and workshop sessions for AID and ID audiences.
- Work toward achieving the assigned target of active AID and ID accounts specifying the company’s solutions.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and specification patterns in the AID and ID segment.
- Identify market gaps and recommend corrective actions to strengthen competitive positioning.
- Provide timely feedback to senior stakeholders on product needs and competitor moves to support innovation and strategy.
- Keep learning about product updates, industry developments, and relevant technical advances.
- Take part in training programs to build consultative selling and technical expertise.
- Coordinate closely with internal sales teams to support specification-led business growth.
- Organize Lunch & Learn programs for architects and interior designers.
- Conduct small and mid-sized training and workshop sessions for stakeholders.
- Maintain structured records on specifications, project conversions, and engagement activity.
- Participate in cross-functional review meetings and follow regional governance processes.
- Submit OAAP and MIS reports on time, in line with index requirements.
Performance Measures
Success in this role is measured by the number of specifications won in key projects, the rate at which those specifications convert into orders, the size of the active AID and ID account base, the quality and punctuality of reporting, and feedback on presentations and workshops.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have 4 to 10 years of experience in specifications, business development, or technical sales, preferably within building materials or interior solutions. The role calls for a graduate-level background in a science or technical discipline such as B.Sc., B.Tech, BE, Diploma, or B.Arch.
Skills Required
The role needs strong verbal and presentation abilities, a solid grasp of interior solution products, consultative selling skills, account relationship management, competitor and market analysis capability, and working knowledge of MS Office and reporting tools.
