APIGEE Lead

Role Overview

This position is for an APIGEE Lead based in Nagpur with 7 to 12 years of experience, focusing on leading APIGEE implementation projects and managing API gateway solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture discussions of Apigee solutions alongside customer architects and cloud/network engineers.
• Develop proxy flows, templates, and configure security settings, including automation for migration and proxy deployment processes.
• Customize and set up the developer portal as per project needs.
• Configure analytics and monitoring features within Apigee environment.
• Provide conceptual architectural solutions and participate in evaluations of connectivity, security, and foundation options for Apigee.
• Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployment and testing of Apigee proxies.
• Support pre-sales activities related to Apigee offerings by outlining technical opportunities.
• Engage with clients to understand their systems and requirements to recommend suitable Apigee solutions.
• Create, review, and consult on architectural decisions and solution blueprints ensuring they meet project demands.
• Prepare training materials to facilitate smooth transitions for users adapting to new system implementations.
• Lead technical discussions with clients' subject matter experts and stakeholders emphasizing technical advantages.
• Review and approve design frameworks to ensure fulfillment of functional and non-functional requirements aligned with overall architecture.
• Develop reference codes and provide guidance on complex coding and product issues for the development team.
• Set up monitoring KPIs and alert notifications for API traffic, latency, security, and error conditions.
• Diagnose and resolve critical live site issues, addressing architectural framework challenges for production support.

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in designing and developing applications in cloud environments.
• Over 4 years working experience with Apigee API Gateway including Blueprint/Foundation setup, installation (OPDK/SaaS/Hybrid), and proxy development.
• At least 2 years coding RESTful services and APIs using Java, JSON, and Python.
• Strong experience with Apigee API management, SOAP XML, JSON, NGINX, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or similar.
• Proven track record in full SDLC for API development using Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee.
• Hands-on experience with user interface and web services creation.
• Installation and configuration experience with Google Cloud Platform Apigee EDGE solution delivery.
• Experience managing traffic migration from other API gateways to Apigee.
• Technical proficiency in Apigee configurations, management, and testing.
• Expertise with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub for automated Apigee proxy deployments.
• Skill in implementing security measures including OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates, KeyStore, and Trust Store within Apigee platform.
• Ability to analyze API traffic, performance, and diagnose issues effectively.
• Experience establishing KPIs, alerts, and notifications to proactively manage bot threats, security risks, latency, and data errors.

Additional Useful Skills

• Knowledge of IBM Software AG / WebMethods, IBM DataPower.
• Understanding of APIGEE Microservice Gateways and Istio Service Mesh technologies.
• Ability to configure analytics and reporting features on Apigee.
• Experience integrating Apigee with incident management and monitoring tools like Splunk, Remedy, ELK stack.
