About the Role
Leigh & Co. Events is expanding quickly and is seeking wedding planners to support its wedding design, coordination, and planning services for engaged couples. This Lead Wedding Coordinator opportunity is aimed at someone who wants to work in wedding planning and take ownership of events on site. It is a contract position with a flexible schedule that you can set yourself. Training is included, and the role is intended for the 2026 season and beyond.
Compensation
This is a paid project-based assignment with total pay of $400 for approximately 10 to 12 hours of work.
What You'll Do
You will act as the lead planner for weddings, with most of the work happening onsite. In partnership with client experience managers and assistant coordinators, you will help make sure each wedding is executed smoothly from planning touchpoints through breakdown at the end of the night.
- Join the final details call with clients around six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, the timeline, and expectations.
- Run the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding so everyone understands the timing, procession order, and key cues.
- Represent the couple onsite and maintain a calm, practical approach if issues come up.
- Manage ceremony and reception setup to match the event design and the day-of playbook.
- Oversee wedding-day operations from vendor arrival through final teardown.
- Welcome vendors, guide them onsite, and serve as the main point of contact.
- Communicate setup directions clearly so vendors can follow the event plan.
- Help place and organize personal and event details such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and décor.
- Support the wedding party and family with timing cues, direction, and day-of assistance.
- Make sure end-of-event items such as gifts, guest books, and personal décor are packed and accounted for.
- Handle unexpected issues or last-minute changes to keep the guest experience running smoothly.
Requirements
Applicants must be available to work weekends and bring at least two years of experience in wedding planning or event planning. Strong communication, attention to detail, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs are required.
Additional Information
The company provides training for this position. Candidates should be prepared for an onsite role and should be available to join for the 2026 season and beyond.
