Surveyor

Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is looking for a Surveyor to support transmission line surveying work in the Greater Ahmedabad Area. The role calls for hands-on experience in surveying for 765 KV transmission line projects, including detailed and check surveys, contouring, prop setting, and extracting data from DGPS and Total Station equipment. Experience in major survey work for similar or higher transmission line projects is expected.

Key Work Areas

• Carry out precise land surveys with appropriate tools and techniques to establish the exact position, height, and alignment of transmission line elements such as towers, conductors, insulators, and related equipment.
• Gather dependable field data on existing infrastructure, terrain, boundary lines, and other project inputs using GPS units, total stations, laser scanners, and other surveying instruments.
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to align survey execution with project needs, risks, and timelines.
• Support right-of-way identification for the transmission line while keeping legal and regulatory obligations in view, including land ownership, easements, and construction permissions.
• Prepare maps, sketches, reports, digital terrain models, topographic maps, and as-built drawings from survey findings, and keep records organized for project use.
• Check survey outputs for correctness and completeness, and ensure calculations and measurements match required standards and specifications.
• Follow safety procedures and compliance requirements during field activities, and remain mindful of applicable laws and industry practices.

Tools and Technical Requirements

The candidate should be comfortable handling surveying software and office tools, with strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. Familiarity with AutoCAD and PLS is also required.

Additional Experience Expectations

Prior involvement in detail surveys, check surveys, contouring, prop setting, and survey data extraction from DGPS and Total Station is important. The profile also expects the ability to handle major survey assignments on transmission line projects of similar or greater complexity.
