Role Overview

The Robotics Data Collector role is focused on gathering high-quality robotics and egocentric data to help train AI models. The position is hands-on and involves working with robotic equipment, sensors, and real environments to capture video, motion, and interaction datasets. It suits someone who is detail-focused, technically inquisitive, and comfortable in lab-based and controlled field settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out robotics and first-person data collection using handheld, head-mounted, or robot-mounted cameras, along with sensors such as IMUs and depth cameras.
• Follow predefined scenarios and collection protocols to record actions, interactions, and environments with consistency and precision.
• Support the operation of humanoid or mobile robots during collection sessions.
• Help set up and calibrate cameras, sensors, and recording systems, and confirm that all hardware is functioning correctly during experiments.
• Check collected datasets for completeness, clarity, and accuracy, and identify problems such as missing data, recording mistakes, or sensor misalignment.
• Adhere to quality standards so the captured data is suitable for AI training.
• Prepare collection environments and assist with tasks such as object manipulation, navigation-based scenarios, and human-robot interaction recordings.
• Document data collection sessions, equipment usage, and any issues encountered, while sharing feedback to improve processes and protocols.
• Follow lab safety rules, handle robotics equipment and sensors carefully, and comply with privacy and security requirements.

Requirements

• 0 to 3+ years of experience in data collection, field operations, lab environments, or other technical or hardware-oriented roles.
• Comfort using cameras, sensors, recording devices, and basic computer tools.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Experience with robotics systems or hardware environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with egocentric or first-person data collection, computer vision datasets, or AI datasets is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of robotics concepts, sensors, and recording tools is desirable.
• Prior exposure to technical labs or research environments is preferred.
• Must be reliable, execution-focused, and comfortable working in dynamic environments.
