Reporting Data Analyst

Role summary

Sobeys is hiring a full-time Reporting Data Analyst based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In this position, you will create insightful reporting for retail media campaigns and help teams understand what worked, what needs improvement, and where future media spend should go. The work blends analytics, reporting automation, and campaign measurement across several channels and platforms.

What you will do

• Create and automate after-campaign reports for retail media activity spanning onsite, offsite, and in-store placements.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze large datasets from sources such as Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform, and reporting APIs including Meta, DV360, and GA4.
• Design, maintain, and improve data pipelines and dashboards using Python, SQL, and BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Datorama.
• Work closely with Sales, Ad Operations, and Data Engineering partners to confirm campaign KPIs, reporting needs, and delivery schedules.
• Present clear charts, written insights, and performance commentary covering audience analytics, impressions, reach, conversions, sales lift, and ROAS.
• Help standardize reporting templates so measurement stays consistent across clients and product categories.
• Check data quality and validate metrics to ensure reported results are accurate.
• Contribute to scalable reporting automation and analytics systems.

Required qualifications and skills

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Python, SQL, and advanced Excel for analysis and data handling.
• Experience working with cloud data environments such as Snowflake and GCP.
• Exposure to BI and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Datorama.
• Working familiarity with digital media reporting and audience measurement tools including Meta, DV360, and GA4.
• Ability to explain analytical findings clearly and tell a compelling story with data.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on reporting accuracy.
• Comfort collaborating with cross-functional business and technical teams.

Who this role is for

This opportunity is suited to candidates with around 2 or more years of experience in analytics, media reporting, or retail media measurement. A background in retail or consumer packaged goods datasets is beneficial. Applicants should hold a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. AWS or GCP certifications in data analytics or cloud engineering are viewed as an asset.
