Role Summary

EKDNT Foundation is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help design and develop mechanical systems, tools, and prototypes that improve accessibility, safety, and user comfort in mental health and community support settings. This is a full-time remote position centered on concept development, detailed product design, and optimization of equipment used in outreach, educational, and therapeutic environments. The role requires practical mechanical engineering knowledge, strong collaboration, and the ability to turn user needs into workable engineering solutions.

What You Will Do

Develop and refine mechanical concepts, systems, and prototype solutions aligned with the foundation’s mission.
Create, update, and maintain CAD models along with technical drawings.
Carry out feasibility assessments, research, and development work to evaluate design options.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to convert requirements into practical engineering outputs.
Track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables in a remote work environment.
Liaise with external vendors or fabrication partners as needed.
Ensure that designs align with quality, safety, and sustainability expectations.
Prepare engineering documentation, reports, and presentations.
Improve designs continuously using feedback, testing results, and iteration.

Qualifications and Requirements

Solid grounding in mechanical engineering and the ability to apply core principles to real products or systems.
Practical experience in machine design, including component choice, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360 for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
Background in research and development, including idea exploration, prototyping, testing, and iterative refinement.
Capability to manage projects, prioritize work, and deliver tasks on time while collaborating remotely.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences in speaking and writing.
Self-driven work style with strong organization and time management for remote work.
Prior exposure to healthcare, assistive technology, human factors, or community-centered work is beneficial.
Alignment with EKDNT Foundation’s mission and sensitivity to mental health-related contexts.
