Role overview

Boardwalk is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Associate in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to handle repair requests, urgent issues, and ongoing upkeep for residential properties. This position suits someone who enjoys practical work, has solid mechanical ability, and takes pride in solving problems efficiently and correctly the first time.

Key duties

• Respond to maintenance requests within 72 hours.
• Handle emergency repairs while on call.
• Carry out vacant suite repairs and refresh work to meet established quality standards.
• Maintain shared spaces and building systems.
• Work with the Customer Care Team to inspect turnover suites.
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and document findings.
• Confirm that contractors finish their work to the required quality level.
• Support snow removal when needed.
• Take on additional tasks and assist other sites as required.

Experience and education

• At least 2 years of experience in maintenance service is required.
• Three years of renovation experience is considered an asset.

Technical and soft-skill expectations

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are needed.
• Comfort with technology is considered an advantage.
• Applicants must bring their own tools and have them in place before the probationary period ends; the tool list will be shared during the interview.
• The job may require up to 8 hours of walking, standing, stair climbing, and lifting.
• Candidates must be able to move loads up to 90 kg with the right equipment.
• You should be able to identify and fix issues correctly on the first attempt.
• A strong customer service mindset is important.
• Good time management, independence, teamwork, a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and assertiveness are expected.

Additional requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• You must have your own reliable vehicle.
