Logistics Operations Manager

About the role

In this position, you will lead logistics operations with a strong focus on reliable, flexible execution that helps meet delivery commitments, maintain accurate order handling, and keep order management running smoothly. You will work on transport optimization, including route design, carrier selection, and mode planning, to lower costs and improve service levels. The role also involves reducing risk, broadening supplier options, using live monitoring, and supporting adaptable operating models. You will contribute to a global systems strategy that improves streamlined workflows, inventory control, and order fulfillment.

Another important part of the job is helping reduce the organization’s carbon footprint through smarter load planning, more sustainable supplier choices, and environmentally conscious packaging. You will also use technology and data analysis to improve supplier performance, cost efficiency, and broader operational effectiveness through sourcing, contract management, and supplier evaluation.

Location and work arrangement

The role is based in Hanau am Main, Hesse, Germany, with the option to indicate a preferred working location from Frankfurt am Main or Hanau. This is a full-time onsite position.

Minimum qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 5 years working in logistics operations.
• At least 5 years managing domestic and international vendors or third-party logistics providers.
• At least 5 years in a customer-facing or client-facing role supporting logistics operations.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time when needed.

Preferred qualifications

• A master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• CSCMP certification.
• 4 years of experience analyzing data and turning it into business insights to support decisions.
• Experience working with data center logistics operations.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong structured thinking and logical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day logistics operations, oversee third-party logistics vendors supporting warehouses and data centers in assigned locations, and ensure consistent delivery against service level agreements while supporting business continuity and program management efforts.
• Track and manage key performance indicators, vendor scorecards, business cases for process improvement, and alignment of priorities across interdependent initiatives. You will also own quarterly and annual budgeting, invoice control, and capital improvement projects for your locations.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders such as vendors and carriers to shorten end-to-end delivery cycle times.

Compensation and benefits

The role includes a target annual base pay range of €90,000 to €92,500 in Germany, along with a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Pay may vary depending on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
