Job description

Role Overview

The Visual Merchandiser enhances guest experiences by executing and maintaining appealing visual displays aligned with company standards to boost sales and inspire customers. This role involves expertise in merchandising techniques, mannequin styling, mapping, fixture blocking, and in-store marketing elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize daily and weekly visual merchandising workload based on sales targets, special events, and promotions in partnership with leadership.
  • Perform regular visual assessments and collaborate with leaders to elevate store presentation and customer experience.
  • Ensure adherence to visual merchandising standards and support in-store marketing efforts throughout the store.
  • Set lighting to highlight key merchandise and solve visual merchandising challenges under leadership guidance.
  • Train and develop team members to strengthen their visual merchandising skills and understanding of signage and affordability strategies.
  • Maintain backroom organization and keep signage tools and fixtures up to date.
  • Create an inclusive work environment respecting diverse perspectives and fostering authenticity and equity.
  • Adhere to ethical conduct and safety policies, reporting and addressing hazards responsibly.
  • Engage with guests warmly during tasks, assisting with their needs and expressing gratitude for choosing the store.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support business requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Enjoyment in interacting and assisting both customers and teammates.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, physically demanding environments requiring teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem-solving.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years minimum experience in visual merchandising.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Strong business acumen, creativity, and trend awareness to inspire customers and drive sales.
  • Leadership skills to influence and guide team members in following visual merchandising processes.
  • Proficiency with multiple communication devices and technology such as handheld scanners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Welcoming and helpful demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus and composure in a busy atmosphere while multitasking efficiently.

Additional Requirements

  • Access all areas of the store to quickly respond to customer and team needs.
  • Operate work assist vehicles and pallet jacks safely.
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and related information accurately.
  • Occasional cash register operation.
  • Capability to climb ladders and handle merchandise safely, frequently lifting up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds independently.
  • Reliable and prompt attendance with flexibility in scheduling as hours may vary without guaranteed full-time hours.
  • Remain physically mobile throughout the shift regardless of varying durations.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay ranges hourly from $21.00 to $23.00, with the full pay range extending up to $35.70 based on factors such as location, experience, education, and certifications.
