About the Role
A rapidly expanding multidisciplinary construction and civil engineering contractor in Ireland seeks a Quantity Surveyor to enhance their team. This company operates across various sectors including infrastructure, groundworks, road surfacing, and civil engineering projects. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential as the role involves fostering strong relationships between clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain communication with clients, project managers, and company directors.
- Measure, price, negotiate, and agree budgets and changes in project scope.
- Ensure timely submission of all payment applications and contractual claims.
- Oversee payment receipt aligned with contract terms.
- Prepare and submit estimates and tender documentation promptly.
- Present final accounts and negotiate contract terms diligently.
- Provide weekly updates on costs, values, and delivery timelines.
- Develop and deliver value reconciliations and forecasts for final cost and value.
- Prepare project work schedules and cash flow statements.
- Manage procurement, negotiation, and placement of sub-contract orders.
- Supervise financial and commercial management of subcontractors up to settlement of their accounts.
- Ensure contractual communications and documentation comply with contract requirements.
- Prepare supporting documents for claims, variations, and additional payments.
- Support site teams including supervisors and contract managers.
- Assist estimating and procurement departments.
- Engage with clients on all commercial issues including supplying supporting information.
- Coordinate with recruitment agencies for additional staffing and approve job costing.
- Meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Emphasize efficiency and productivity continuously.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in quantity surveying roles related to construction or civil engineering projects.
- Ability to interact with project and contract managers, internal teams, and client representatives, including participation in meetings on site.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and site operations.
- Efficient time management with ability to meet challenging targets.
- Possession of a full clean driving licence.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: €60000 to €65000 depending on experience.
