Role Overview
The Performance Associate, Programmatic will collaborate across WPP Media teams to drive programmatic campaign planning, execution, analysis, and insight generation. The role requires a proactive, flexible individual with a positive mindset ready to embrace new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage programmatic platforms including Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager, The Trade Desk, AppNexus, and Google Analytics.
- Understand and apply concepts related to programmatic buying such as DSPs/SSPs, real-time bidding, ad exchanges, DMPs, and audience targeting strategies.
- Handle performance-driven campaigns focused on boosting ecommerce sales.
- Ensure timely workflow management and adherence to service level agreements with flawless task execution.
- Analyze campaign briefs to develop programmatic media plans aligned with client objectives.
- Conduct thorough campaign setup, resolve tracking discrepancies, and activate campaigns with high accuracy following industry best practices.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness using tools like Google Analytics and DSP interfaces, and manage budgets and daily spending effectively.
- Analyze campaign results to detect trends and generate actionable insights to surpass client goals.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of programmatic ecosystems, brand safety, viewability standards, and ad fraud prevention.
- Execute various programmatic deal types and collaborate closely with the line manager for market-level campaign management.
- Build strong relationships internally and externally to ensure seamless coordination from briefing through optimization and reporting.
Daily Activities
- Implement campaigns accurately within DSP platforms, ensuring all trafficking and tracking needs are proactively addressed for optimal performance and reporting.
- Analyze performance data continuously to identify optimization opportunities across multiple levers such as audience targeting, supply sources, timing, frequency, geography, and creative content.
- Participate in work-in-progress meetings to share campaign status and performance updates.
- Deliver regular campaign reports, providing insights to influence strategic planning and buying decisions.
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc campaign feedback requests from client teams.
Success Metrics
- Within 3 months: Develop solid understanding of client brands and digital platforms; obtain certifications on key programmatic tools; establish trusted relationships with teams.
- Within 6 months: Become a dependable advisor to clients and market teams; contribute optimization suggestions to enhance campaign results; oversee effective campaign delivery and adjustments.
- Within 12 months: Expand expertise in online products and strategies; identify process or tool improvements for campaign efficiency; solidify advisory status with client teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of professional experience in digital media, preferably within a media agency or publisher trading desk environment.
- Hands-on experience with programmatic campaign optimization, implementation, and reporting.
- Knowledgeable about Adservers, DSPs/SSPs, real-time bidding, ad exchanges, DMPs, audience targeting, brand safety, viewability, and ad fraud mitigation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, along with sound financial and numerical skills.
